Glossy DVD Boxes

November 20, 2006 · 1 Comment

In the past week I’ve purchased a bunch of DVDs. Many of these DVDs have been new releases. It is the Christmas shopping season therefore the number of releases for the week are at their highest point throughout the year. But that’s a different topic altogether. All of the DVDs I purchased that are season sets or cardboard cases have something that most of my DVDs in similar packages don’t have. The cardboard case has a high gloss sheen. I find that odd. At first I thought it was just for a specific effect on the cover of Looney Tunes Golden Collection: Volume Four, but then I noticed it on Batman Beyond: Season Two and Grounded For Life: Season Four. And it’s not just a studio specific action. The Looney Tunes and Batman Beyond are both Warner Bros. but Grounded For Life is from Anchor Bay. I wonder if this is just a temporary thing or if it will last.

In other DVD news, I’ve read on TVShowsOnDvd.com that Whose Line Is It Anyway? is rumoured to be given a DVD release. I’m not talking about that Drew Carey mess that was made in America. I’m talking about the original British program hosted by Clive Anderson. In honour of this rumour, I have written a hoedown verse.

I like to watch DVDs,
I really, really do.
If I didn’t have any,
I’d probably just watch you.

Feel free to post your own hoedown verses in the comments section.
