Weekend Recap: New Car Smell

Friday

The weather was just plain horrid. I hate hot weather, I detest humidity. I stayed in and relaxed. Hid out in the basement where it’s cooler and put on some righteous tunes on the record player.

Saturday

Bob and I headed out to the Blue Jay game. We had seats in the left field home run section but in the last row so we were in the shade. Good seats for days when the weather was around a human’s ideal internal body temperature.

After the game, we hung out at a mall in Richmond Hill before going our seperate ways.

Again, I spent the evening relaxing in my basement with some good music.

Sunday

After having two easy going evenings, I needed to do some laundry to keep myself from feeling like I had wasted an entire weekend.

In the early evening, the clouds rolled in and decided to reward my staying in with a rain, wind and thunderstorm. It felt like my house was going through a carwash. When the rain had stopped, I peaked outside. Other than the usual scattering of small objects, there was one potted plant that had tipped over and a snow shovel (yeah, still had one out on the patio) had fallen over and moved across the patio. There is also a new tear in the canapy of the gazebo. I think it is now officially time to replace that gazebo canapy.

  2. I miss thunderstorms. It’s been cold here so you should be glad you at least have some heat!

  4. Dang, it was hot this weekend! If I had a basement I would have been in it. Well, I kind of have a basement, if you count the level under my home, which is the concrete parking garage for the whole condo complex. Yes, it was cooler in the parking garage, but there’s no stereo or computer so really I wasn’t tempted to hang out there.

  5. It’s hot as hell in Austin as well & at least you got some shade for the Jays game as I usually find myself directly in the sun when I make a Rangers game once a summer. Brutal.

  6. It rained out here, but my weekend was about as exciting as yours, sans a Major League game.

  7. Sounds like no parties under the gazebo canopy any time soon.

  8. Miss Ash – Lights? Nope. Tree, yes.

Rawbean – Wanna trade? I hate hot and humid summer days and long for the windchill of winter.

Claire – This was a good weekend.

Spark – Alls I need in my basement is my record player, the high-def TV is just a bonus.

BDS – I’ve heard bad things about watching Rangers games in the dog days of summer. I was very pleased with the seats I had, unfortunetely the home team got their asses handed to them.

Wiwille – Although it lacked excitement, it was a good weekend. Very relaxing and calming.

Random Chick – haven’t had a party out there in three years anyway. Too many mosquitos.

  9. Wiwille – Trust me Wiwille, the baseball game was not exciting.

WIGSF – You should have come to the Zohan movie. It had some funny moments but in the end, I think you would have wanted to be there for the scene where they play hacky-sack with a cat. I thought the Wonder Twins were going to leave the theatre.

  10. I love summer thunderstorms, but its been crazy humid here too lately. I’d rather it be hot than cold though.

  11. I dislike the thunderstorms. They come on like a bang out of nowhere, last only a couple of minutes then leave. The water evaporates within minutes and the temperature has not cooled down at all. The humidity pretty much stays too.

  13. Don’t take this the wrong way, but I don’t want to be your twin. If I was, that would make that dream I had last night really, really disturbing.
