I got tagged by modobs to post about my workplace desk in some new sort of meme. Here we go.
My desk is a simple rectangle (93 x 191) with a small return (55 x 111) on my right. The top is 5/8 Hard Rock Maple melamine with a solid maple bullnose around the edge on every side but the two that meet the wall. The drawer boxes are white melamine. Everything else is maple veneered plywood with no stain, only lacquer sealer. The lacquer is probably a 15 or 20 sheen.
The computer mini-tower sits underneath the return. The printer/copier/fax is atop the return. The monitor, keyboard, mouse and telephone are all at the point where the table meets the return. I keep a white garbage bag behind the monitor so that when the computer is off and the office is closed for the evening or weekend, I put the bag on the monitor to keep dust off.
The desk is always a mess of papers, sawdust, cigarette ashes and various other small objects left there. I make some small effort to tidy it up every once in a while.

Claire – That’s what I thought.
JLee – Yeah, you keep thinking that. Actually, I used to have a wall calendar above my desk of women in ripped tight clothing holding tools. My boss told me to take it down so I put up a calendar of exotic chickens.

That’s funny, I also have a garbage bag to cover my desk at the moment, because of the dust coming from the demolition of the walls in our unit. Thanks for taking the tag!
