I’ve been on Lavalife for a couple of weeks now. I am not liking it. It’s pretty skeevy. The woman I wrote about last week that I was chatting with. I met her through Lavalife.
I’ve also been using eHarmony. I tweaked my answers from the first time I took the entrance personality survey and I was not given the “we can’t help you” rejection letter.
Last night, I met a woman for coffee. She was the first person I’ve physically met due to the use of a dating service. She seems pretty nice. We chatted for while. One of those things where she said “Wow, I can’t believe it’s already 10 o’clock.”
I had a good time. I’ve got a feeling though that she maybe didn’t. I think she got bored of me by the end of our discussion. Only time will tell.
Other than that, I think having the coffee was a bad decision for me. I got maybe three hours of sleep last night. I’m frickin’ exhausted this morning just from lack of sleep. Yesterday, I never really had any time to eat much. It was a very go go go day and the caffeine in my empty stomach must have had a stronger effect. I couldn’t fall asleep last night.

Tell us more about this girl.

I’ve told you plenty.

Do you like her?
Comment by wiwille — July 3, 2009 @ 9:12 am
She seems pretty cool.

Wait… tell me if you have met “John Lennon” on eharmony yet?
Comment by Bob at York — July 3, 2009 @ 9:17 am
You can have “her.”
Comment by whatigotsofar — July 3, 2009 @ 11:44 am
he dont worry about what she thinks of you just yet, just relax and have fun. the plus side to that attitude is that she’ll be more likely to have positive feelings for you.
Comment by Rachel — July 3, 2009 @ 9:40 am
I’m trying to relax and keep a cool attitude. Not be overbearing, demanding and needy.
Comment by whatigotsofar — July 3, 2009 @ 11:44 am
Well that’s good that you’re getting out there and meeting new people. I have 3 friends who have been married by internet loves and a few others that have used the services for years no such luck. Keep trying.
Comment by Miss Ash — July 3, 2009 @ 9:44 am
I’m plugging away diligently.

You’re an insomniac and you met for late coffee ??
I just don’t know….
Comment by Heff — July 3, 2009 @ 11:38 am
Heff, the things we do for love…
Comment by whatigotsofar — July 3, 2009 @ 11:43 am
Good for you. I also know people who’ve found “the one” through internet dating. In fact, one of the weddings I’m going to this summer was brought to you by Lavalife.
Next time you go for late coffee, don’t be afraid to order decaf.
Comment by Christielli — July 3, 2009 @ 12:43 pm
I needed caffeine to keep me up during the meeting. I had a long, frustrating day and it would look really bad if I yawned mid-conversation. Work was a bitch for me yesterday. Car problems too. Just nothing was going right for me up until this little meeting.
Comment by whatigotsofar — July 3, 2009 @ 2:20 pm
Maybe you need some fresh material to liven up the conversation. I just heard this one yesterday.
Q: What’s brown and rhymes with Snoop?
A: Dr. Dre.
See? The girls LOVE that stuff.
Comment by Sparklingred — July 3, 2009 @ 2:06 pm
That was awesome! I am using that one tonight at baseball.
But that was a good reminder, WIGSF, you didn’t tell her the Chicken in the library joke did you?
Comment by Bob at York — July 3, 2009 @ 2:11 pm
Oh my, that joke is awful. It’s pretty stale too. That would have been a huge moodkiller.
And the chicken joke, I dunno, not yet. Too soon for the chicken joke. I joked about beating up a cop instead.
Comment by whatigotsofar — July 3, 2009 @ 2:18 pm
Yeah, I have tested the joke out and I am getting the feeling it is stale but I still enjoyed it and I think T would too.
Comment by Bob at York — July 3, 2009 @ 2:20 pm
Dude, T’s heard that joke. In fact, I’m pretty sure I heard the girlfriend of that other guy on your team tell that joke. Doesn’t it sound like the kind of joke she would tell?
I suggest you don’t tell that joke, EVER.
Comment by whatigotsofar — July 3, 2009 @ 2:24 pm
It does sound like a joke she would tell. I can hear her laughing to it.
Comment by Bob at York — July 3, 2009 @ 2:27 pm
I’m with Christielli, bud — decaf. It’s okay to have it.
Nice to know you’re out there struttin’ your stuff. You’ll be knockin’ ‘em dead in no time.
I mean that figuratively of course.

You don’t know if she was bored!! Give yourself some credit.
Comment by angelcjr — July 3, 2009 @ 4:00 pm
I think by the end, she was looking for an out.
Comment by whatigotsofar — July 3, 2009 @ 6:22 pm
I think the key is:
What was her tone of voice when she said “Wow, I can’t believe it’s already 10 o’clock.”?
Comment by Bob — July 3, 2009 @ 5:25 pm
Fine, but after that it went downhill.
Comment by whatigotsofar — July 3, 2009 @ 6:22 pm
“Fine”? What does that mean? Do you mean that she honestly couldn’t believe it was that late because time flew by so quick because she was having fun?
Oh and T and the other girl liked the joke, they said they hadn’t heard it before.
Comment by Bob — July 4, 2009 @ 10:55 am
Have you checked out those links I sent you?
Did you have a nice time last night? Was she nice? Was she pretty?
Comment by DarcsFalcon — July 3, 2009 @ 6:08 pm
I had a good time. She was very nice and she’s got a great smile.
Comment by whatigotsofar — July 3, 2009 @ 6:22 pm
Decaf in the evening or go to Starbucks and get something that is noncaf and you are good.
Hope she calls again ~ good luck!

I was tired going in. Had a really long day. Needed to not be yawning and drowsy.
Comment by whatigotsofar — July 3, 2009 @ 10:15 pm
Sounds promising so far. I get you on the coffee thing. I can’t drink it after 4 or 5 in the afternoon or I’m awake all night. Speaking of, my dog woke me up all night long last night with her weird dog noises. I should start insomnia blogging!!
Comment by JLee — July 3, 2009 @ 11:08 pm
Yes you should. What else is there to do that early in the morning?
Comment by whatigotsofar — July 5, 2009 @ 2:40 pm

Women I meet through work are pretty much all married.
